Funny story about this, but first - Isn’t this such a fabulous idea to engrave the little silver cap? I would never have thought to do it but I love that the bride had such a great vision!

So funny story - I’m a real dope because I thought something that screws on could go on any old way and that it depended on where you put it on would determine where it ended up. Dumb, right!? Well I learned that that isn’t the case. It only goes on one way and one way only. So when I took the cap off to engrave it, I just engraved whatever way my heart told me to engrave. In this case, my heart way wrong! When I screwed it back on it was facing the WRONG way.

Long story short- I had to replace the little silver lid/cap but let this be a lesson. Screw tops are not random. (Sometimes I surprise myself that I’ve gotten this far in life with this silly brain!) .

Engraving a frosted bottle. I love the way the engraved glass is just etched. It’s not overly dramatic but more subtle. .
.
Since frosted glass can’t be colour filled in the same way as unfrosted perfume bottles, I don’t colour fill it but leave it etched. Some engravers fill the engraving with ink and nib or paint pen but every time I’ve done it - it just looks sloppy. I love the clean thin lines and I just can’t get that if I colour fill with ink. It just hits different. .
